TermDefinition
HTML HyperText Markup Language (used for webpages)
OS Operating System
browser gives you access to the internet (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.)
search engine lets you search the internet (Google, Bing, YAHOO!, etc.)
hardware parts of the computer you can touch (the equipment)
software programs that run on a computer and tell the computer what to do
input device a piece of equipment that is used to give information to the computer or control the computer (keyboard, mouse, microphone, etc.)
output device a piece of equipment that gives out information from the computer (monitor, speakers, headphones, printer, etc.)
HTTPS HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure
flash drive small data storage device (flash drive, jump drive, thumb drive, etc.)
CPU "Central Processing Unit" the main working part of the computer (the brain of the computer)
URL "Uniform Resource Locator" the address of a specific Web site
link highlighted and/or underlined word or phrase on a page that lets you "jump" to a new Web page or a completely different Web site
hypertext text that links to other information
