Module 6-Set Two-Math Vocabulary

Area The quantitative measure of a plane or curved surface; two dimensional extent
Perimeter The distance around the outside of a plane figure. For a polygon, the perimeter is the sum of the lengths of the sides
Circumference The measure of the distance around a circle.
Volume The total amount of space enclosed in a solid. formula: length x width x height=Cubic Feet
Surface Area The total area of the exterior surface of a solid. Formula: 2ab+2bc+2ac=Square units.a, b,& c are the lengths of the 3 sides.
Right Angle A 90 degree angle.
Acute Angle Any angle that measures less than 90 degrees.
Obtuse Angle Any angle that measures greater than 90 degrees but measures less than 180 degrees.
