First Amendment Five (5) freedoms: 1) speech 2) press 3) religion 4) assembly 5) petition
Second Amendment Right to bear arms.
Third Amendment Forbids the government to order private citizens to allow soldiers to live in their homes
Fourth Amendment Protects the rights of people from unreasonable search and seizure
Fifth Amendment Right to not incriminate yourself.
Sixth Amendment Protects individuals accused of crimes. It includes the right to a lawyer, the right to confront witnesses against you, the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury and the right to know the charges
Seventh Amendment Protect rights in civil (not criminal) cases. You have the right to a jury trail and the judge cannot overturn a jury's decision in a civil trial.
Eighth Amendment Protects against 1) excessive bail 2) excessive fines 3) cruel and unusual punishments.
Ninth Amendment States that people's rights are not limited to just those listed in the Constitution (eg. right to health care or an education)
Tenth Amendment States that the powers not delegated or given to the federal government are reserved to the states. (eg. marriages; driver's licenses; and car registrations)

Miranda Warning A series of statements informing criminal suspects on their arrest of their constitutional rights such as the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney.
Cruel & Unusual Punishment Protects you from torture or other harsh treatment
Double Jeopardy You can not be tried more than once for the same charge
Freedom of the Press The media (and people through social media) have the right to report on things that are happening
Unreasonable Search & Seizure The police or authorities need a to have a good reason (probable cause) to look for something
Right to Assemble People have the right to get together in a group
Right to Bear Arms The right to own a gun
Freedom of Religion The right to believe or not believe in god and to worship or not worship as you see fit.
"taking the fifth" Refusing to testify to prevent self-incrimination.
Seizure The act of forcibly taking control of a person or property.
Grand Jury A group of citizens who hear the government's evidence and decide whether it justifies a trial.
Self-Incrimination No one can force people to say things that might be used against them in a trial.
Defendant An accused person who is put on trial for a crime (they must defend themselves against the charge).
Warrant An order from a judge that authorizes police or other officials to arrest a person or search their property looking for evidence.
Bail Money or property given to the court to hold until an accused person shows up for their trial. If the accused cannot afford the bail or they would stay in jail until the trial.
