NATURAL WASTAGE When people retire in the business.
REDEPLOYMENT Moving from one company location to another.
REDUNDANCY Letting an employee go as there is no work for them.
JOB DESCRIPTION Details of job(title and location).
PERSON SPECIFICATION Education, work experience and skills needed for the job.
CURRICULUM VITAE An account of a person's education, qualifications, and previous occupations, typically sent with a job application.
SCREENING Reducing down applicants for a job e.g. interviewing.
SHORT-LIST A list of selected candidates from which a final choice is made.
REMUNERATION Money paid for work or a service.
TIME-RATE Paid per hours worked.
PIECE-RATE Paid per piece of work done.
COMMISION Paid percentage of value of items sold.
BONUS Extra payment as reward for an achievement.
FLEXI-TIME Allows employee to start and finish work within a time range.
JOB-SHARING When two employees share one job.
EWORK(TELE-WORKING) Working from the home.
GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE Procedure for dealing with employee issues in the workplace.
SHOP STEWARD Elected representative of the union members within the workplace.
INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS Relationships between employers and employees.
INDUCTION First week of training.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL(PA) Reviewing the performance.
SHARE OWNERSHIP SCHEMES Free shares are given to employees to encourage them to stay.
SHARE OPTIONS A benefit in the form of an option given by a company to an employee to buy a share in the company at a discount or at a stated fixed price.
MULTI-SKILLING Preparing employees so they're able to take on new responsibilities.
SELECTION The action of carefully choosing someone as being the best or most suitable for the job.
