Friction
Term | Definition |

Friction | The force that two forces exert on each other when they rub together |
Static Friction | Friction that acts on objects that are not moving |
Sliding Friction | When two solid surfaces slide over each other |
Rolling Friction | When an object rolls over a surface |
Fluid Friction | When a solid object moves over a fluid |
Gravity | A force that pulls objects toward each other |
Freefall | When an object falls and the only force acting on it is gravity |
Momentum | The momentum of a moving object can be determined by multiplying its mass x velocity |
Law of Conservation of Momentum | The total momentum of any group of objects remain the same is conserved unless outside forces act on the object |
Centripetal Force | A force that causes an object to move in a circular path |
