How scientists measure distance
Term | Definition |

Motion | An object is in motion when its distance from another object is changing |
Reference Point | A place or object used for comparison to determine if something is in motion |
SI unit for distance | Meter |
Speed | = Distance/Time |
Average Speed | +Total Distance Traveled/Total time |
Instantaneous Speed | The rate at which an object is moving at that point in time |
Velocity | Speed of an object in a given direction |
Line Graph | Used to show motion of an object |
Slope | The steepness of a line |
