Sum | The result when two or more numbers are added. |
Difference | The result when two or more numbers are subtracted. |
Product | The result when two or more numbers are multiplied. |
Quotient | The result when two or more numbers are divided. |
Whole number | A number that is not a negative and not a fraction. |
Rational number | Any number that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers. |
Integer | The set of whole numbers and their opposites. |
Absolute value | The distance of a number from zero on a number line. |
Commutative property | You can add or multiply numbers in order. |
Associative property | When you add or multiply, you can group the numbers together in any combination. |
Distributive property | The property that terms in an expression may be expanded in a particular way to form an equivalent expression. |
