QuestionAnswer
Bacteria Tiny single celled organisms. Some beneit your health and others are harmful to your health by causing a disease.
Viruses Tiny disease making particles that are made up of genetic material and a protein coat that survive in cells.
Protozoa Single-celled microscopic organisms that are more complex than bacteria.
Fungi Organisms that absorb nutrients from other living and dead organisms.
Parasites Organisms that get their food and energy by feeding off of other living things.
Immune System Your body's defense system that is made up of antibodies and blood cells that help fight off diseases
Lymphatic System The system of blood vessels that antibodies and blood cells travel through
White Blood Cells Cells in the blood whose primary job is to defend diseases
Infectious Disease Any disease that is caused by an agent that has invaded the body
Lifestyle Diseases Diseases that are caused partly by unhealthy behaviors and partly by other factors
Hereditary Diseases Diseases caused by abnormal chromosomes or defective genes
Autoimmune diseases The immune system attacks the cells of the body that it usually protects
