Functions
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Continuous Data | Can take on any value |
Dependent Variable | Variable for the range |
Discrete Data | They have space between possible data values |
Domain | Relation of x coordinates |
Function | Each member of the domain paired with exactly one member of range |
Function Table | You can organize the input rule and out point |
Independent Variable | Variable for the domain |
Linear Relationship | A relationship that has a straight-line graph |
Linear Function | A function in which the graph of the solutions forms a line |
Nonlinear Function | A function whose rate of change is not constant. The graph of a nonlinear function is not a straight line. |
Quadratic Function | A function in which the greatest power of the variable is 2 |
Qualitative Graphs | A graph used to represent situations that do not necessarily have numerical values. |
Range | The set of y-coordinates in a relationship |
Relation | Any set of ordered pairs |
