Key Terminology

Vector | A quantity possessing both magnitude (length/size) and direction, represented by an arrow |
Time | A period or interval between events |
Displacement | The difference between the final and initial position of a point |
Acceleration | The rate of change of velocity of an object |
Momentum | The product of the mass and velocity of an object |
Force | Any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object |
Pressure | The force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed |
Mass | A property of a physical body which determines the strength of its mutual gravitational attraction to other bodies |
Direction | A line extending from a specific point toward a point of the compass |
Magnitude | The size of a mathematical object |
Velocity | The rate of change of an objects position relative to a fixed reference |
