renewable | a source of energy that is not depleted by use, such as water, wind, or solar power. |
solar | a place, person, or thing from which something comes or can be obtained |
wind | the perceptible natural movement of the air, especially in the form of a current of air blowing from a particular direction. |
water | a colorless, transparent, odorless, tasteless liquid that forms the seas, lakes, rivers, and rain and is the basis of the fluids of living organisms |
biomass | the total mass of organisms in a given area or volume |
geothermal | Energy obtained by tapping underground reservoirs of heat, usually near volcanoes or other hot spots on the surface of the Earth. |
fuel | material such as coal, gas, or oil that is burned to produce heat or power |
nonrenewable | (of a contract, agreement, etc.) not able to be renewed |
fossil fuels | a natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms. |

pollution | the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects. |

water pollution | is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). |
contour plowing | plowing along the contours of the land in order to minimize soil erosion |
windbreaking | a growth of trees or shrubs serving to break the force of wind; broadly : a shelter (as a fence) from the wind. |
conservation plowing | is a soil conservation method in which the dead stalks from the previous year's crop are left in the ground to hold the soil in place. |
