what is a community? a group of different populations or organisms that live in a ecosystem
what is a population? all of one kind of organism that lives in a particular area
what contains living and nonliving things? ecosystem and environment
what are the living parts of an ecosystem called? biotic
what are the nonliving parts of an ecosystem called? abiotic
in what two ways can living organisms be grouped in? population and community
what are the two main types of ecosystems? terrestrial and aquatic
what does terrestrial mean? land
what does aquatic mean? water
what are the 2 main types of land? grassland and forest
what are the 3 main types of water? lakes and ponds,oceans,and estuaries
what is a microorganism? it is something too small to see and can be multi or single cell
what is the predator\prey relationship? predator eats prey and prey gets eaten by predators
what is the parasite\host relationship? parasite has to stay on host for survival and host has to support the parasite while the parasite is on the host
what are some things that might cause decreases in population? pollution, drought, deforestation, and climate change
what is something that would cause increasing in population? more plants in an area means that the population there of herbivores would go up
