A. astronomical unit The astronomical unit (symbol au, AU or ua) is a unit of length, roughly the distance from the Earth to the Sun. However, that distance varies as the Earth orbits the Sun, from a maximum (aphelion) to a minimum (perihelion) and back again once a year.
B. revolution In everyday speech revolution and rotation are often used as synonyms, but in science they are not synonyms and have distinct meanings. The difference between the two terms lies in the location of the central axis that the object turns about
C. rotation the action of rotating around an axis or center.
D. galaxy a large system of stars held together by mutual gravitation and isolated from similar systems by vast regions of space.
E. planet A large rock in galaxies.
F. light year An amount of time in the universe.
G. solar system A system about planets and stars.
H. star A miniature sun.
I.universe A place where there are galaxies and planets.
