Astronomy a branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space, and the physical universe in a whole
Geocentric measured from or considered in relation to the center of the Earth
Heliocentric measured from or considered in relation to the center of the Sun
Retrograde Motion the apparent motionof a planet to move in a direction opposite to that of other bodies within its system
Ellipse a regular ovel shape, traced by a point moving in a plane so that the sum of its distances from two points is constant
Astronomical Unit (AU) the mean distance between the Earth and the Sun
Rotation the action of rotating around an axis or center
Revolution an instance of revolving
Precession the slow movement of the axis of a spinning body around another axis due to a torque acting to change the direction of the first axis
Perihelion the point in the orbit of the planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the Sun
Aphelion the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the Sun
Perigree the point in the orbit of the moon or a satellite at which it is nearest to the Earth
Apogee the point in the orbit of the moon or a satellite at which it is farthest to the Earth
Phases of the Moon the particular appearance of the moon's state of illumination
