What are the different filing methods ? Numerically, Alphabetically, By date, By subject
What does D/r stand for ? Debit
What does C/r stand for ? Credit
What is opening cash ? Opening cash is the money that a household has at the start of the month
What is closing cash ? Closing cash is the money that a household has left over at the end of the month
What is an account ? An account is a record of money transactions
What does Balance c/d stand for ? Balance carried down
Why should we file ? It is important to keep all accounts and documents in a safe place where we can easily find them.
What is filing ? Filing is the method of storing documents and information so it can be easily located when required.
What does Balance b/d stand for ? Balance b/d
What is filing alphabetically? Information is arranged in order of the letters in the name-starting with the surname.
What does filing by date mean ? Files are arranged in date order as they are received. Start with the earliest date and work upwards.
