What is an Employment "Test"? Evaluations that everyone within the firm us to judge the potential and performance of their people
How can HR assess a test's reliability? by taking a specific measure at two points in time and comparing the scores; called the "coefficient of coefficient" or the "correlation stability"
What is "Selection" in terms of recruitment? Selection is the process of gathering information about job applicants in order to determine who should be hired for an available position. Applications, interviews, reference checks, etc
What is "orientation" in regards to the applicant selection process? In orientation, the employee is introduced to the work environment.
What is the HR's part in selection and orientation of job staffing? HR departments are responsible for gathering information about the potential employee and arranging for interviews between job applicants and line managers.
What is the line manager’s role in the selection and orientation process? Help identify needs for staffing, assist with job analysis, evaluate employee performance, and assist in inducting new hires.
