What are the two classifications of energy? Renewable and nonrenewable
what are the two types of energy in the nonrenewable category? Fossil Fuels, Nuclear
What are some of the types of energy in the renewable category? Biomass, Geothermal, Hydroelectric, solar, tidal harness, and wind energy. P.S. you don't have to name them all.
What does insulation do? It helps to keep either the cold out and the warm in or the warm out and the cold in.
Where would you put insulation in your own house? in your floors, ceiling, and walls.
What is the most used type of energy in the US? Coal, it is used about 51% of all of the other types of energy that we have available in the US.
Why do we not use more solar energy than we do, since it is very renewable? It takes up to much space, and you would need a second source in the night because you don't get any solar energy at night.
What type of light bulb is the best for saving money? The Florescent type because it saves the energy to heat and it doesn't have to use as much energy when lighting.
Give a step to step process of how most energy starts from the sun. This should include plants too. 1st Suns rays transfer to Earth and plant, 2nd plants die and after millions of years Fossil Fuels are formed, 3rd fossil Fuels are taken from the ground and refined, 4th power plants burn the fuel and turns it into electricity and into the boys computer.
How are things, like ice, warmed? The molecules from the ice and a warmer object will run together and either take some of the heat, or take some of the coldness from the ice.
What is one thing that helps to collect solar energy? solar panels.
