Prince Shotoku the prince of Japan under the Yamato who encouraged cultural diffusion with the mainland

Nara the capital of Japan; it had the same layout as the Chinese capital Chang'an but smaller and no wall to keep out enemies
Shinto the native religion of Japan. it worshiped their love of nature and spirits that they called Kamis
