onomatopoeia when the sound of a word is the word
paraphrase to restate writing in your own words
parody an imitation of something, usually with the intent to make fun
personification to give human qualities to something that is not human
simile comparison between two unlike things using like or as to make the comparison
stanza a group of lines in poetry; paragraph
tone the attitude or behavior the speaker has toward the subject; formal, informal, humorous, serious, etc.
