Basic technology terms that all teachers should know

QuestionAnswer
Web 2.0 Web sites that allow users to create content, rather than just view content. Sometimes called the Read-Write web.
iAdventure A web-based problem solving site that structures a learning unit around a story about a character who is faced with difficult choice. Students carry our web research to help the character make the right choices.
Google Maps Web site that allows users to interact with thousands of satellite photos of the surface of the Earth, or with maps of roads and cities.
Blog Web site in which someone regularly posts their thoughts and ideas on certain topics. Readers of the posts can add their thoughts by replying to the posts.
Netbook A laptop computer that is smaller than a regular laptop and is built maining to access the Internet wirelessly. Most of these are priced significantly lower than full-sized laptops.
USB Flash Drive A small digital storage card that can easily be carried in your pocket and can be inserted into the USB port of any computer.
