Instinct | A natural pattern of behavior in a species such as birds building nests or tarantulas throwing hair to escape predators |

Trait | A specific characteristic of an organism |
Offspring | New organisms that come from parents that have reproduced |
Heredity | The passing of traits from parent to offspring during reproduction |
Migration | to move usually periodically from one region or climate to another for feeding or breeding |
Mimicry | The resemblance of an organism to another organism or to its surroundings that gives it a better chance of survival |
Camouflage | To increase their chances of survival, some organisms blend in with their surrounding environment |
Hibernation | A long period of inactivity that is like sleeping |
genetics | the study of heredity and how inherited traits are passed down from parents to offspring |
