sternocleidomastoid together: flex neck, alone: bends head toward shoulder turns face to opp. side O-MANIBRIUM AND CLAVICLE (MEDIAL PORTION) I- SUPERIOR NACHAL LINE OF OCCIPITAL BONE
rectus abdominis depresses ribs, flexes vertebral column
transverse abdominis compresses abdominal contents
Temporalis Elevates mandible, AND SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENT I-CORONOID PROCESS OF MANDIBLE VIA LIGAMENT 0-TEMPRORAL FOSSA
serratus anterior protracts shoulder, rotates scapula so glenoid cavity moves superiorly
pectoralis major flexion, adduction, medial rotation at shoulder
latissimus dorsi extension, adduction and medial rotation at shoulder
deltoid whole: abduction at shoulder, anterior: flexion and medial rotation, posterior: extension and lateral rotation
mentalis elevates and protrudes lower lip
triceps brachii extension at elbow, long head: extension and adduction at shoulder
biceps brachii flexion at elbow and shoulder, supination at elbow
brachialis flexion at elbow
supinator supination
diaphragm contraction expands thoracic cavity compreses abdominopelvic cavity
internal intercostals elevate ribs
external intercostals depresses ribs
Buccinator compresses cheeks/ use when whistling, sucking,blow bubbles. Holds food between teeth when chewing
platysma draws mouth downward/pull skin over clevicle up
splenius capitis together: extend neck, each rotates and laterally flexes neck to that side
semispinalis capitis together: extend head each extends and laterally flexes neck
iliocostalic cervicis extends or laterally flexes neck, elevates ribs
iliocostalis thoracis stabilizes thoracec vertebrae in extension
iliocostalis lumborum extends vertebral column and depresses ribs
longissimus capitus together: extends neck, each rotates and laterally flexes neck to that side
longissimus cervicis together: extends neck, each rotates and laterally flexes neck to that side
masseter TEMPORALIS *PRIME MOVERS OF THE MANDIBLE closes jaw, chewing,ELEVATION MAINTAINS POSITION OF JAW @REST, ELEVATES
longissimus thoracis extends vertebral column, each produces lateral flextion to that side
spinalis cervicis extends neck

supraspinatus abduction at shoulder
subscapularis medial rotation at shoulder
pronator teres pronation
supinator supination
risorius draws corners of mouth to side/make fish face
depressor anguli oris depresses lower lip
Zygomaticus Major draws mouth upward / smile muscle
Depressor labii inferioris allow lips to pull downward / frown muscle
Medial Pterygoid assist mandible in chewing
Longus Colli bend neck forward
Longu Capitis flexs-rotate the head
Scalenus Anterior SUPERIOR AND POSTERIOR ELEVATES FIRST 2 RIBS (AIDS RESPIRATION) FLEXES AND ROTATES NECK
Scalenus Medias rasies the 1st rib
Scalenus Posterior bend cervical vertebrae, raises 2nd rib
Nasalis helps open and close nasal
Corrugator Supercilii move eyebrow up and down
SPLENIS ( BAND-AID ) BEARS MOST OF RESPONSIBILITY IN EXTENSION AND HYPER-EXTENSION OF THE NECK, UNILATERALLY ROTATES, LATERALLY FLEXION SAME SIDE
