Chapter 5 Vocab

Angle Bisector Ray that divides an angle into two adjacent angles that are congruent
Median Segment whose endpoints are a vertex of a triangle and the midpoint of the opposite side
Centroid Where the three medians of a triangle meet
Concurrent Lines When three or more lines intersect in the same point
Point of Concurrency The point where three or more lines intersect
Altitude Perpendicular segment from a vertex to the opposite side or to the line that contains the opposite side
Perpendicular Lines Intersect to form right angles
Midpoint Point that divides or bisects the segment into tow congruent segments
Circumcenter The point of concurrency of the perpendicular bisectors of the triangle
Perpendicular Bisector A segment, ray, line, or plane that is perpendicular to a segment at its midpoint
Incenter The point of concurrency of the angle bisectors of a triangle
Orthocenter The lines containing the three altitudes of a triangle are concurrent and intersect at this point
Midsegment A segment that connects the midpoints of two sides of a triangle
