Term | Definition |
---|---|
unit rate | the ratio of two measurements in which the second term is 1. |
slope | the measure of steepness of a line: rise/run |
line | a series of points in a straight path with no ends. |
Constant of proportionality | value of the ratio of two proportional quantities x and y; usually written y = kx, where k is the factor of proportionality. |
data | .A collection of facts, such as numbers, words, measurements, and observations |
Constant Rate of Change | the ratio that shows the relationship between the two variables in equation |
origin | the point on the coordinate plane where the x-axis and y-axis intersect (0,0). |
proportional relationship | between two quantities is one in which the two quantities vary directly with one and other. If one item is doubled, the other, related item is also doubled. Because of this, it is also called a direct variation. In other words, they have the same ratio. |
linear | Of, relating to, or resembling a line; straight |
table of values | Numbers or quantities arranged in rows and columns |
