Fractures pain & inflammation medical, immobilize fracture, range of motion exercises; encourage fluid input, check skin for: C- color, M-motion, E-edema, T-temperature
Fractured Hip trapeze to assist with movement; TEDs; bedpan; HOB kept at 45 or less; abduction pillow to keep legs apart; ROM exercises; watch for heel pressure ulcers
Total Joint Replacement CPM:continuous passive motion; TEDs; check skin: redness, edema, irritation
Compartment Syndrome monitor pt's extremities for: color, pain, temperature; give emotional support
Ruptured or Slipped Disc rest; medication; ice; compresses; physical therapy; exercise
Amputation gently wash stump; watch for: redness, edema, drainage or open areas at incision
