Outline A way of organizing information.
Culture Refers to a people's entire way of life. It includes language, foods, literature, music, art, and religious beliefs.
Cultural Diffusion The spreading of ideas and products from one place to another.
Tradition An established way of doing things.
Confucianism Based on the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius, A belief that inspired loyalty and obedience to one's family and ruler. Emphasized the importance of order in government and society.
City Planning Cities in Japan were modeled after cities in China.
Dome of the Rock Important to Muslims. Said to have been built over the rock from which Muhammad made a night journey to heaven.
Horseshoe Arch Used in Islamic architecture.
Minaret A tower used in architecture that is closely tied to the Islamic religion.
Domes A traditional feature of Islamic architecture that was first used in the design of Roman buildings.
Allah The Arabic word for God.
