---|---|
Thermal Energy | A system of that is the sum of all kinetic energies of its particles. |
Average Kinetic Energy | The temperature of an object is directly related to this |
Thermal expansion | Particles gain energy and can move away from each other |
Electrical Resistance | A way to measure how well electricity is conducted. |
Viscosity | The thickness of an object |
Heat | The quantity of thermal energy that flows from one place to another |
Conduction | When two objects of different temperatures touch, thermal energy moves from the hotter object to the cooler one |
Convection | Thermal energy carried from one location to another by a fluid |
Radiation | Thermal energy carried within a gas |
Insulators | Materials that resist the flow of thermal energy |
Heat Capacity | The relationship between the amount of thermal energy absorbed and the temperature change caused by this |
Specific Heat | The heat capacity per gram of material |
Latent heat of Fusion | The amount of thermal energy exchanged per gram of material |
