Plot | a secret plan or scheme to accomplish some purpose, especially a hostile, unlawful, or evil purpose |
Resolution | a formal expression of opinion or intention made, usually after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group |
Rhyme scheme | the pattern of rhymes used in a poem, usually marked by letters to symbolize correspondences, as rhyme royal, ababbcc. |
Exposition | a large-scale public exhibition or show, as of art or manufactured products |
Parallel | extending in the same direction, equidistant at all points, and never converging or diverging |
genre | a class or category of artistic endeavor having a particular form, content, technique, or the like |
Rising action | a related series of incidents in a literary plot that build toward the point of greatest interest |
Foreshadowing | to show or indicate beforehand; prefigure |
Act | anything done, being done, or to be done; deed; performance |
Climax | the highest or most intense point in the development or resolution of something; culmination |
Flashback | a device in the narrative of a motion picture, novel, etc., by which an event or scene taking place before the present time in the narrative is inserted into the chronological structure of the work |
Scene | the place where some action or event occurs |
Falling action | the part of a literary plot that occurs after the climax has been reached and the conflict has been resolved |
