TermDefinition
Motivation The reason somebody behaves the way they do, desire or willingness to do something. Sentence: My motivation to get up in the morning is that I get to see my friends.
Deceive Causing someone to believe something is not true, in order to gain some personal advantage Sentence: Sheri told Carrie that the concert started at nine, even though it started at eight, because she wanted a picture with the band.
I.Q. Short for intelligence quotient. How smart you are. Sentence:If you have a high I.Q. then you must be very smart.
Refute To prove a statement or theory wrong. Sentence: Scientists proved that the theory of pangea was refute
Intellectual The understanding or mental powers of a particular person. Sentence: The children became very intellectual because they go to school everyday.
Conscious Aware of and responding to one's surroundings; awake. Sentence: The children were all conscious while they were doing their school work.
Interim The intervening time (meantime). Sentence:In the interim, I'll just work on my study guide.
Perplexed Completely baffled; very puzzled Sentence: I was perplexed when I found out my grandpa died, because he was very healthy.
Regression A return to a former or less developed state Sentence: Dave went back to regression after he got out of his coma.
Feeble-minded Unable to make intelligent decisions or judgments. Sentence: Algernon was feeble-minded until he got the surgery that made him smart.
