Cerebellum Controls body movement and maintains balance
Thalamus Provides crude perception of touch, pressure, pain, and temperature. Includes nuclei involved in movement planning and control.
Hypothalamus Regulates heart rate and arterial blood pressure,body temperature, control of hunger and body weight,sleep and wakefulness,water and electrolyte balance
Medulla Oblongata Contains vital centers that controls breathing, heart-beat and blood supply
Pons Help control breathing with the help of the medulla oblongata
Midbrain Contains the centers for certain visual relexes and the auditory relex centers
Pituitary Gland Requlates the production of hormones
Infundibulum Includes the thalamus,hypothalamus and pineal gland
Spinal Plexi (phrenic nerve) Connects the pituitary gland to the hypothalamus
Pineal Gland Secretes melatonin,sets the body's biological clock
Optic Chiasma Crossing point of the two branches of the optic(II) nerve
Olfactory Bulb Controls sense of smell
Oflactory Tract Forms synapses with neurons of the olfactory (I) nerve
Lateral Ventricles Cavity filled with fluid
Transverse fissure Separates the cerebrum from the cerebellum
Longitudinal fissure
3rd Ventricle
4th Venricle
Corpus Callosum Connects cerebral hemispheres, provides communication between the two hemispheres
