What are covalent bonding ? Covalent bonding is when atoms share electrons
What are ionic bonding ? Ionic bonding is the bonding that occurs when from attraction of electron, atoms lose or gain electrons
What is meant by atomic number? Atomic number is the number of proton in the atom
explain what an isotope ? Isotopes are atoms of the same atomic number but have different mass numbers
How many electron are present in the first orbital There are 2 electron present in the first orbital
How many electrons are there in the second orbital There are 8 electron present in the second orbital
What is an ion ? An ion is a charged atom
Give an example of ionic bond MgO Magnesium Oxide
Give an example of a covalent bond CH4 Methane
Give some characteristic of ionic bonding high melting and boiling point soluble in water solid at room temperature
Give some characteristic of covalent bonding Liquid at room temperature insoluble in water low boiling and melting point.
