Ordered pair | a pair of numbers (x,y) used to locate a point in a coordinate plane; the first number is the x-coordinate, and the second number is the y-coordinate |
Coordinate plane | a coordinate plane is formed by the intersection of a horizontal number line, usually called the x-axis, and a vertical line, usually called the y-axis |
x-axis | the horizontal number line on a coordinate plane |
y-axis | the vertical number line on a coordinate plane |
x-coordinate | the first coordinate in an ordered pair, which indicates how many units to move left of right from the origin |
y-axis | the second coordinate in an ordered pair, which indicates how many units to move up or down from the origin |
Linear Equation | An equation that has two or more variables |
