Maritime Polar Air Mass | An air mass that forms over cold oceans or moist areas. |
Maritime Tropical Air Mass | An air mass that forms over a warm ocean or moist area. |
Continental Polar Air Mass | An air mass that forms over cold land. |
Continental Tropical Air Mass | An air mass that forms over warm land. |
Air mass | A body of air with uniform temperature, humidity, and pressure. |
Weather | The state of the atmosphere at certain time and place. |
Warm front | The boundary of an advancing warm air mass. |
Cold front | The boundary of an advancing cool air mass. |
Front | The forward edge of an advancing air mass. |
Stationary Front | The boundary between two air masses where neither air masses are strong enough to displace on another. |
Occluded front | A composite front produced by occlusion. |
Anticyclone | A weather system with high pressure at it's center around which, air slowly circulates. |
