The Close Supervision Officer will
Receive specialized training in crisis intervention and/or other mental health precautionary training, as dictated by the dorm classification
Ensure there is a Report of Confinement (P–0339) on all inmates assigned to the close supervision dorm
Know the mental health status on inmates currently assigned to the close supervision dorm (close supervision or self harm protocol
Know any possible restrictions on inmates currently assigned to the close supervision dorm (disciplinary confinement, use of phone, two officer control, mental health updates, etc
Purge all paperwork of inmates no longer assigned to the close supervision dorm and file the paperwork accordingly
Make security checks of all inmates housed in the close supervision dorms
at intervals not to exceed every fifteen minutes unless otherwise specified by the health services or mental health staff
Perform close and constant supervision of inmates housed within the dorm
Search all new inmates and any inmates that have been out of the dorm for any reason (i.e., court, clinic, visitation, hospital
before allowing the inmate entrance into their assigned housing areas
Special precautions should be taken to ensure contraband items are not concealed
Particular attention shall be given to
The inmate's hair, body folds, mouth clothing articles and/or Wristbands
Between fingers and/or toes
Under arms Within his housing area
