Oefen de betekenis van de vaktermen wiskunde (deel 1).

TermDefinition
abscis Eerste getal van een coördinaat = x-coördinaat.
afronden Het afronden van een getal is een handeling waarbij het aantal cijfers vermindert. Is het volgende cijfer < 5, decimalen laten wegvallen, anders afronden naar boven. Afronden op 0,01 of 10^(-2) nauwkeurig = afronden op 2 cijfers na de komma.
arceren Een deel van het vlak / van de verzameling aanduiden met schuine strepen.
associatief Een bewerking '*' is associatief wanneer geldt: (a*b)*c = a*(b*c) = a*b*c.
coëfficiënt Een getal dat een lettergedeelte voorafgaat, bij de notatie 5x²y is 5 de coëfficiënt en x²y het lettergedeelte.
commutatief Een bewerking '*' is commutatief wanneer geldt: a*b = b*a.
construeren/constructie Speciale manier van nauwkeurig tekenen m.b.v. liniaal, geodriehoek, passer; meetkundig tekenen.
coördinaat Dient om de plaats van een punt in een assenstelsel te bepalen. De coördinaatgetallen van een bepaald punt worden tussen haakjes genoteerd (volgorde belangrijk!!!).
definitie/definiëren Eenduidige omschrijving van een nieuw ingevoerde term met behulp van andere termen. De precieze uitleg van een begrip.
discriminant Het getal D=b²-4ac dat hoort bij een vierkantsvergelijking ax² + bx + c = 0.
distributiviteit Een bewerking '*' is distributief ten opzichte van een bewerking '○' wanneer geldt: a*(b○c) = a*b ○ a*c.
exact uitrekenen Uitwerken en resultaat niet afronden: in breukvorm of wortelvorm laten staan.
grafische betekenis Begrip verklaren door gebruik te maken van een grafiek.

haakjes wegwerken Zo ver mogelijk uitrekenen zodat er geen ( en ) voorkomen in je resultaat.
