Injured employees requiring non–emergency treatment of their injuries | may only seek treatment from City authorized physicians to avoid the medical costs associated with the treatment |
Subsequent treatments of an old injury in the line of duty are handled as follows | The employee is required to report the subsequent ailment to their supervisor |
Overtime requests are not authorized | for medical appointments relating to Workers Compensation |
If possible, supervisors should make every effort to adjust | an employee’s work schedule |
so that the employee can receive treatment | during work hours |
Aggravation of an old injury in a subsequent accident | is treated as a new injury |
except that portion pertaining to permanent partial disability | if subsequent accident is after more than two years |
Any employee who is exposed, after hours or on weekends only | to blood or bodily fluid |
which may put them at risk for infection | and have been prescribed anti-viral medication |
may have a pharmacy contact the city contracted myMatrixx | for authorization to fill the medication |
The authorization form is located on the Personnel webpage | and should accompany the employee when filling the medication |
