Managed Health Care | A health care system that a person must choose what doctor. It's used as a cost-cutting measure. |
Head Start | A funded preschool for families with low income. |
Internal Barriers | Emotions and attitudes that get in the way of someone who is trying to seek help. |
External Barriers | Things in the environment that make it difficult for someone to receive help. |
Human Services Referral Directory | A book used as a source to find human services programs. |
Employee Assistance Program | Supportive services that deal with mental health, financial or legal issues that are directed to employees by their companies. They want to raise productivity. |
Generalist | Somebody who is wide ranged of resources. |
Ideologist | Someone who has beliefs. |
Specializing | To devote or pay attention to one career. |
Therapy | A treatment to help with disorders and diseases. |
AFDC | Aid to Families With Dependent Children, it gives families money and Medicare that need it. |
ACOA | Adult Children of Alcoholics, is a group for children who are going through similar situations with their parents and can discuss how they feel about it. |
SADD/MADD | Students Against Drunk Driving and Mothers Against Driving are organizations for people against driving and driving. |
Human Service Worker | It identifies workers, they help people with serious situations who need help. |
Stereotype | A standardized conception or an image invested with a certain meaning. |
