Parallel Lines and angles
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Parallel Lines | Two or more lines that never intersect |
Alternate Interior Angles | Angles that are on the inside of the parallel lines and on different sides of the transversal. |
Alternate Interior Angles Theorem | Alternate Interior Angles are always congruent. |
Corresponding Angles | Angles are on the same side of the transversal and on the same side of the parallel lines. |
Corresponding Angles Theorem | Corresponding Angles are always congruent. |
Vertical Angles Theorem | Vertical Angles are always congruent. |
Vertical Angles | Angles that share a common vertex and are opposite of each other. |
Alternate Exterior Angles | Angles that are on the outside of the parallel lines and on different sides of the transversal. (always congruent) |
Same-Side Interior Angles | Angles that are on the same side of the transversal and inside the parallel lines. (always supplementary) |
