Process skills

QuestionAnswer
Independent variable The thing that is changed during an experiment.
Experiment A way to test a hypothesis or collect data.
Data The information collected during an experiment.
Observations Using your senses to help you make a hypothesis or collect data during an experiment.
Error A mistake made during an experiment.
Graphs A way to communicate data collected during an experiment by making charts.
Question The first step of scientific method where you identify the problem.
Dependent variable The results of the experiment.
Conclusion The summery of the experiments and results.
Hypothesis An educated guess.
Scientific method A way to answer a question or solve a problem.
Analyze How scientists organize and process their data.
Qualitative observations The quality's of an object such as shape, size, color, or texture.
Quantitative observations The quantity's of an object that can be counted or measured. Always a number.
Purpose The reason for doing an experiment.
Constants The thing that doesn't change during an experiment.
Inference An explanation given for what is observed. Often a guess.
