transition | the manner in which a new slide appears on the screen in place of the previous slide during a slide show |
animation | an effect applied to an object that makes the object appear, disappear, or move |
poster frame | the frame that appears on the slide when the video is not playing |
header | information that appears at the top of each printed page |
entrance animation | text and objects are not shown on the slide until the animation occurs; one of the most commonly used animation types |
emphasis animation | text and objects already on the slide change in appearance or move |
exit animation | text and objects leave the screen before the slide show advances to the next slide |
motion path animation | text and objects follow a path on a slide |
table | a collection of fields that describes a person, place, object, event, or idea |
cell | the area where a row and column intersect in a table |
keyword | word or phrase that you can enter in as search box that describes an image that you want to search for |
adjustment handle | a handle that appears on a selected object that you can drag to change the object's proportions without changing the size of the shape |
style | a set of formatting options that you can apply to an object |
optimize media | this allows for any potential problems with the video on the slides to be repaired |
outline | the border around a shape |
animation painter | used to apply the animation of the selected picture to another picture (effects and duration) |
duration | how long something (transition, animation) lasts |
trim | to modify a video clip in a presentation by removing parts from the beginning and/or end |
gradient | shading in which one color blends into another or varies from one slide to another |
footer | any text that appears at the bottom of every page in a document or every slide in a presentation |
basic shapes | shapes category where the most common shapes like oval, triangle, diamond, and heart are located |
insert | the menu tab used to add shapes or pictures to a slide |
flip | to make an image or shape a mirror of itself; rotate under the Rotate button |
after previous | animation setting where animation occurs automatically after the previous action |
on click | animation setting where your animation starts when you advance the slideshow |
appear | the default transition for slides if none is set |
reset | you can do this to an image to undo all formatting, styles, and sizing changes you made |
title slide | usually, the date and slide number do not need to appear on this slide |
