software the programs and other operating information used by a computer.
operating system the software that supports a computer's basic functions, such as scheduling tasks, executing applications, and controlling peripherals.
hardware tools, machinery, and other durable equipment. the machines, wiring, and other physical components of a computer or other electronic system.
digital (of signals or data) expressed as series of the digits 0 and 1, typically represented by values of a physical quantity such as voltage or magnetic polarization.
hard drive a high-capacity, self-contained storage device containing a read-write mechanism plus one or more hard disks, inside a sealed unit. Also called <i>hard disk drive</i>.
input what is put in, taken in, or operated on by any process or system.
output the amount of something produced by a person, machine, or industry.
external storage device secondary storage.
read-only memory (ROM) memory read at high speed but not capable of being changed by program instructions.
e-portfolio An electronic portfolio is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web. Such electronic evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks
