Absolute Value | the distance from zero on a number line; symbolically | x | |
Coordinate Plane | the plane determined by a horizontal number line, called the x-axis, and a vertical number line, called the y-axis, intersecting at a point called the origin |
Horizontal | a line that runs left to right/side to side |
Integer | a whole number or it's opposite |
Natural/Counting Number | the numbers starting with 1 and counting up (1, 2, 3, 4, 5...) |
Ordered Pair | the set of numbers used to locate a position in the coordinate system |
Origin | the point (0, 0) in a coordinate plane where the x-axis and the y-axis intersect |
Quadrant | one of the four parts that make up the coordinate system |
Vertical | a line that runs up and down |
Whole Number | the numbers starting with 0 and counting up (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...) |
x- axis | the horizontal number line of a coordinate plane. |
y- axis | the vertical number line of a coordinate plane |
Zero Pair | the result when one positive is paired with one negative |
