What is the definition of renewable resources? Energy resources that can be replaced quickly.
What is the definition or nonrenewable resources? Energy resources that take millions of years to be replaced.
What are some examples of renewable resources? Sun (solar), water (hydroelectric), biomass, & wind.
What is another name for nonrenewable energy resources? Fossil fuels are nonrenewable energy sources.
What are three types of fossil fuels? Oil (petroleum), coal, & natural gas are fossil fuels.
What is recycling? Recycling is the reuse of waste materials.
What is energy conservation? Reducing the amount of energy consumed by recycling or using alternative energy resources like renewable energy.
What are some disadvantages of using many renewable energy sources? Renewable energy often required expensive equipment.
What is the original source of energy for all renewable and nonrenewable resources? The sun provides the original energy for all of Earth's resources.
What are some advantages of using alternative energy resources? Alternatives to fossil fuels produce less pollution, save money in the long term, and conserve nonrenewable resources.
What are some disadvantages of fossil fuels? Fossil fuels are limited (nonrenewable) and cannot be replaced. They also cause pollution that could be leading to global climate change.
What type type of energy resources are the most used in the U.S. currently? Nonrenewable (fossil fuels) are still the main source of energy in the U.S.
What are some conservation strategies anyone can do? Recycle, turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth, wash only full loads of clothes and dishes, take shorter showers, carpool or ride the bus, & turn off the lights when leaving the room
