Fad Diets A popular diet that doesn't last long and isn't very effective

Minerals Any of the inorganic elements that are essential to the functioning of the human body and are obtained from foods
Appetite A natural desire to satisfy the bodily need for food
Hunger A feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with a desire to eat
Nutrients A substance that provides nourishment essential for growth and the maintenance of life
Anorexia An emotional disorder characterized by an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat
Bulimia An emotional disorder involving distortion of body image and an obsessive desire to lose weight, in which bouts of extreme overeating are followed by depression and self-induced vomiting, purging, or fasting
Proteins Any of a class of nitrogenous organic compounds that consist of large molecules composed of one or more long chains of amino acids and are an essential part of all living organisms
Lipids Any of a class of organic compounds that are fatty acids or their derivatives and are insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvent
