What is dew point? The temperature as which the air is saturated and condensation occurs.
What is fog? Low level stratus clouds near the ground
What are the different heights of clouds? Strato - low; Alto - Middle; Cirro - High
What are the different shapes of clouds? Stratus, Cirrus, Cumulus
What is precipitation? When moisture condenses out of air and falls to ground as rain, sleet, snow or hail.
What is a tornado? A violent, whirling wind that moves in a narrow path over land
What is an air mass? A large body of air with similar temperature and moisture.
What is an isobar? A line that connects points of equal pressure.

What are the characteristics of a cumulus cloud? Puffy, white clouds that look like cotton balls
What are the characteristics of a cirrus cloud? High, white feathery clouds usually associated with fair weather.

How does snow form? Forms when water vapor changes directly into a solid.
One place where low pressure systems form? Along fronts.
How does a cold front form? A cold air mass approaches a warm air mass pushing the warm air mass up causing clouds to form and possibly strong storms.
How does a warm front form? A warm air mass approaches a cold air mass pushing the cold air mass down causing stratus clouds to form and possibly a steady rain.
How does lightning form? Forms when current flows between regions of opposite electrical charges.
How does thunder form? A result of lightning, the air is super heated causing to expand then contract causing a sound wave.
What is hail? Precipitation that forms in lumps of ice.
