List some forms of energy. Solar, Magnetic, Heat, Sound, Chemical, Electrical, Nuclear, Potential, Kinetic

Which form of energy is energy something has because of its position? Potential
Name a device that converts electrical energy to heat energy in the home. Toaster, Kettle or Electric Heater
Name an energy conversion that takes place in a light bulb. Electrical -> Light + Heat
What is the Law of Conservation of Energy? Energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be changed from one form to another.
Name an energy conversion that takes place in an electric drill. Electrical -> Magnetic, Magnetic -> Kinetic, Kinetic -> Heat e.t.c
What do you call sources of energy that will eventually run out? Non-renewable
List some non-renewable sources of energy. Coal, Oil, Gas, Peat (Fossil Fuels)
List some renewable sources of energy. Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Hydro, Wave, Tidal, Biomass
List some advantages and disadvantages of the renewable energy sources. Advs: Unlimited supply, generally no pollution Disavds: can be expensive, not as much energy as fossil fuels sometimes
List some ways you can conserve energy in the home. Turn off lights, switches, appliances when not in use. Turn down thermostat 1 degree. Insulation in the home. e.t.c.
What is power? How quickly work is done or the rate at which work is done. (P = W/t)
What are the units of power? Watts
