Muzikaly

Muzikál je syntetický dramatický žánr, jenž spojuje literaturu, hudbu a tanec.
Slovo muzikál má vícero významů a může označovat též muzikálový film anebo divadelní inscenaci muzikálu, případně též muzikálové divadlo
O muzikálových hercích platí, že musí být dobří činoherci, zpěváci i tanečníci zároveň.
Činohra je dramatický útvar
Slovo muzikál pochází zkrácením anglického slovního spojení musical comedy
Muzikál vznikl v USA
Singspiel je žánr opery, který obsahuje zpěvná čísla a mezi nimi mluvené dialogy
Jako první muzikál vůbec je označována Show boat
Show boat byl uveden 1927 v New Yorku
Hudební výraz muzikálu byl postupně ovlivňován jazzem, klasickou hudbou, rockem a moderní pop music.
Nejdůležitějším místem vývoje muzikálu byla newyorská Broadway
Broadway je velká ulice (bulvár) na Manhattan u v New York u vedoucí také do Bronx u a Westchester County.
K rozvoji muzikálu přispěli géniové jako George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter a Richard Rodgers

Nejstarší český muzikál je: Starci na chmelu
Mezi komerčně nejúspěšnější české muzikály patří Dracula, Monte Cristo, Krysař, Johanka z Arku, Hamlet, Tři mušketýři, Kleopatra
