longshore drift process in which some sediment is moved down the beach with the current due to waves repeatedly hitting the beach
spit a beach that projects like a finger out into the water
sand dune a deposit of wind-blown sand
deflation process by which wind removes surface materials
loess fine, wind-deposited sediment
glacier large mass of ice that moves slowly over the land
continental glacier a galcier that covers much of a continent or large island
ice ages when continental glaciers cover large parts of Earth's surface
valley glacier lang, narrow glacier that forms when snow and ice build up high in a mountain valley
plucking the process in which a glacier picks up rocks as it moves over the land
till the mixture of sediments that a glacier deposits directly on the surface
moraine till deposited at the edges of a glacier at the farthest point reached by a glacier
kettle a small depression that forms when a chunk of ice is left in glacial till; when the ice melts, the kettle remains
