Properties of Multiplication

TermDefinition
Associative the property in which the parenthesis move, but the numbers stay in the same order
Commutative the property in which the order of the numbers changes, but the answer is still the same
Identity the property that states that any number times 1 equals itself
Distributive the property in which a question may ask you to distribute a number and operation within parenthesis, or possibly break a big number down into a smaller number, breaking the problem up into two sets of parenthesis
