French and Spanish Geography

Geographical IDExplanation
Corsica (La Corse) The French island in the Mediterranean where Napoleon Bonaparte was born.
Alps (Les Alpes) The highest French mountain range located between France and Italy.
Pyrenees (les Pyrénées) The mountain range found in southern France and northern Spain: it is a natural border between France and Spain.
Central Plateau (le Massif Central) This mountain range is the oldest French mountains made of extinct volcanoes.
Seine (La Seine) The river in France that runs through Paris and empties into the English Channel.
Loire (La Loire) The longest and least navigable river of France. It is famous for its chateaux.
Garonne River (La Garonne) The river in France that flows from the Pyrenees to the Atlantic Ocean.
Rhône River (Le Rhône) The river in France flowing from Switzerland to the Mediterranean Sea: Lyon is here.
English Channel (La Manche) The body of water bordering France to the north-west near England.
Mediterranean Sea (La Mer Méditerranée) The body of water bordering France to the south-east.
Mont Blanc (le Mont Blanc) The highest peak in western Europe located in the Alps.
Jura (Le Jura) The mountains in Eastern France on the border of Switzerland.
Paris The capital of France located on the Seine river.
